Have you ever been frustrated with the lack of functionality in windows notepad. Well the answer is here in an easy to use functionally rich text editor called notepad++. It has some useful features, like being able to open several files aIt once, and the ability to detect that an opened file has changed as soon as you switch to the appropriate file tab. There is also the ability to record and to playback macro's. It also has a plugin manager which comes with some pre-defined plug-ins. I am currently using the compare plugins which highlights the differences between two files. It also has syntax highlighting which is based on the type of file you tell notepad that it is. It is an excellent editor and I have come nowhere near to exploring it's full potential. If you need to do any serious text editing, this is a tool worthy of consideration.
